These above listed skills have to be put in place properly because the three of them works together to produce an amazing results, and those results triggers up the respect people have for you as their leader. Stay with me, let's explore each one of them.

EXCEL IN COMMUNICATION

Communication with others as their leader is required to be improved. As a leader you have to be very much engage with your communication, there is some choice of words needed to be avoided so others can be sure you truly know what you are doing, when communicating don't introduce a word that let's others think you don't know what to say next, such as "like", "um". Those words or can I say "reactions", needs to be avoided because they can ruin your communication and as well makes your followers think that you don't know what you are doing. And in a situation like this, your respect as a leader from them is in doubt. That's not all, communication isn't only talking, it's listening as well, you have to be a good listener in order to know the opinion of your followers. But sometimes the opinion of the followers is not necessary, you have to make some decisions as a leader, we are going to explore that in later posts.

KEEP YOUR EMOTIONS IN CHECK

Always try to keep cool, don't feel or react emotionally instead it's preferable to act it out. Speak with a calm, relaxed voice so others can feel the flow of calmness you possess and don't react immediately at any provocation, think before reacting. What I mean by think before reacting is maybe the person provoking you is not really provoking you, you may be the person that sees it that way. But with your calm tone and effective thinking, you will be able to figure out what the person mean. Even if he/she mean to provoke you, hold your temper to avoid escalations and respond calmly. Always learn to keep your cool even under tense situations because you are the leader and one of the features of a leader is to coordinate, not scatter. So learn to always keep your emotions in check.

CONTROL YOUR BODY LANGUAGE

Your body language matters a lot during conversation as a leader of an organization or a group of people. People are very observative, especially when it comes to leadership things, they always try to find something to point wrongs at, that's why you need to control your body language. There is one interesting thing about controlling your body language and that is "You don't only control body language during conversation, you as well controls the minds and thoughts of those listening to you at that very moment". The way you dress, stand, look and talk to people speaks a lot about your self confidence and get this "Self confidence is highly respected by people". Give this a try and thank me later, when you have a meeting to attend and you will be addressing the audience as a chairperson, do these. Firstly dress modest, neat and enticing, when you want to address the audience, put on a light smile, stand straight and confident. As you are standing, when speaking look at the audience in the eyes and speak steady and calmly. But don't lay your focus to their eyes, let your focus be on what you are saying. You may not be perfect at first but stick to it, you will master it with time, trust me.

Well, in conclusion; Every leader deserves to be respected, that's why they work with others diligently, if they are not respected, no one will see them as leader and that will be so annoying to the leader. In order to boost other people's respect for you as their leader, you have to acquire some leadership skills that matters. Firstly is being effective in your communication that is excelling in your communication with others during conversations or meetings. Secondly is keeping your emotions in check, that implies keeping calm always and responding with accurate and gentle tone during arguments or any sort of misunderstandings. And lastly is controlling your body language, the way you dress, stand, look and speak during gatherings or meetings proves how confident and responsible you are to handle issues as a leader of the organization.
